Question by pam e: What is the best hair color brand to cover grey hair?
I just turned 47 this year and cannot seem to find a brand of hair color that covers grey. I have dark brown hair and I was really happy with Natural Instincts. But it does not seem to cover the grey. The last brand I used was ION from Sally’s. I am also concerned with the amount of damage certain brands cause. Any ideas out there?

If you are concerned with protecting your hair while getting the best grey protection, you can use an ammonia free hair color line. Herbatint is a great Italian hair color a little pricey but personally I think its much better than the grocery brands. http://www.thebeautycenter.com/brand/herbatint

Answer by Kizz,
Can I just say here as a warning. Do NOT go black if you’re unsure about whether you’d want it long term. Once you’ve dyed your hair black it’s impossible to dye over with box dyes, so you’ll end up having to bleach over it and absolutely kill it no doubt. I dyed my hair black last year in June but i’d wanted it for years she warned me then i’d have to wait for it to grow out if I ever wanted to get rid of it a healthy way. I’m still happy with it though although I like to add crazy colours, i’ve actually tried bleaching over some of the strips of my black with bleach so I could add pink and blue and it didn’t lighten even remotely.
Just a warning.
